The Farsons Great Beer Festival
It’s that time of the year again!
No, I’m not referring to the heat of summer, or to the days spent on the beach – ‘tis the time of the Farsons Great Beer Festival!
Organised by the well-known Farsons brewers, this annual festival is spread over 10 days, beginning on the 22nd of July up to the 31st. Offering more than 20 different beers served in 30 bars, not to mention no less than 50 local and international artists who will be performing live on 3 stages, the 36th edition of this even promises to be an amazing celebration. The festival draws more and more visitors each year – ranging from young people wanting to listen to some good music, those who want to chill with a beer, not to mention families with children opting for some live entertainment and a great evening out. The best part? Entrance is free!
The Farsons Beer Festival, which will be taking place at Ta’ Qali National Park, opens daily at 7.30pm. There are three stages, the Main Stage, where performances start at around 9pm, the Rock Stage, starting approximately at 9.30pm, and the Cosi Corner, which is open between 8pm and 9pm. There is also a Kids’ Area within the Greek Theatre, whereby Cheers Amigos will be providing kiddie rides and entertainment. This opens at around 8.30pm.
The open-air festival this year has an amazing programme, which includes artists and bands like Tribali, Airport Impressions, Fakawi, Red Electrik, FIRE, Forsaken, a U2 Live Tribute band and many more. There will also be a large area dedicated to an Ethnic Market, where there will be different stalls and stands offering hand-made jewellery, decorations, clothes and other items for sale. Not to mention a wide variety of food stalls.
This year, Farsons is also launching its extended range of Classical brews, featuring Farsons’ India Pale Ale and Farsons’ Double Red Strong Ale. The first, is a bitter ale brewed with high quality malt and traditional English hops, while the Farsons Double Red is an all malt and full bodied strong ale with a pleasant bitterness, balanced out by a malty and fruity sweetness.
Amidst the many surprises which are part of the entertainment, there will be a Wheel of Fortune sponsored by Vodafone, where every spin is a win, as well as an exhibition of MotoGP beauties by GasanZammit Motors Ltd.
At the centre stage of it all, there will be Malta’s beloved beer, Cisk, and is multiple varieties. A special mug and a t-shirt related to this year’s event are also available for purchase.
Come on, what are you waiting for?
