So thankfully we survived the End of the World, which means we could celebrate Christmas in peace and tonight we are about to say goodbye to the year 2012. In “the wildest party destination in the entire European continent” New Year’s Eve obviously has a very important role. This celebration brings happiness, energy and lots of love all over the world and Malta too.
The tradition of NYE celebration in Malta is more or less the same like in other countries.
Some groups are organizing house parties to spend and celebrate the last day of the year together. It is nowhere written that these parties are less entertaining with less fun than any other fancy event with expensive tickets. This way of celebration is nice and warm with music, food, close friends or families.
But in Malta for restaurants and bars NYE is one of the best nights of the year. Many people decide to start this night with a nice multi-course dinner with (live) music and wine or champagne. All of these clubs and restaurants are preparing and promoting their NYE menu and NYE schedule long before the season starts.
Malta is famous about all year festivities, so the NYE open outdoor events are inevitable. Three years ago Malta held its first outdoor New Year’s Eve Celebrations with a program of bands, fireworks and confetti. Valletta has a national celebration just like every other capital city. A free National New Year’s Eve event is also organized for the benefit of the Maltese Public and general community. The main stage will take place on St. Georges Square with a big variety of program. This year’s special will be an Architectural Projection Mapping New Year’s Eve 3D countdown Show.
I wish everyone an awesome night for tonight. But don’t forget, every party can be the coolest party of the year: doesn’t matter where, more important is with who you spend it. So take your closest friends and make this night special for each other. If you still don’t know where to go, help yourself with our NYE Calendar of events.
