Paceville is the infamous party area of Malta, situated in St Julians, full of bars, clubs, cafes and restaurants. It gets a bad wrap but there are some really nice places in Paceville to eat and drink, whatever your budget, you can find somewhere decent to have dinner.
I’ve been living in Malta for four years and have tried many places to eat out in Paceville, I’ve seen places come and go and I’ve finally compiled a list of my favourite. Below see the best places to eat out in Paceville, St Julians!
The Scotsman – if it’s large portions you’re looking for and hearty homemade food, then The Scotsman is for you. Typically British food like fry ups, bangers and mash and fish and chips can be found as well as burgers, hot dogs and roast dinners. Prices are very reasonable considering just how much food you get on your plate!
If British pub food tickles your fancy you should also check out The Londoner, which does a lovely bangers and mash, ploughman’s platter and various stews, or Shoreditch, which I’d recommend for a big lunch!
Hugo’s Lounge – perhaps you fancy a bit of sushi as a refreshing meal in the Malta heat? If so, Hugo’s Lounge is definitely worth a try. They offer a mix of Asian Fusion dishes including Thai curries, Chinese appetizers and Japanese Sushi. The food is fairly reasonably priced, served quickly and always of a good standard.
If you fancy something a bit more high class then the Portomaso Marina should be your destination- circled by lovely restaurants there is something for everyone here. A little pricier than other places but the food, service and atmosphere makes them worth every penny. Try the braised shin of beef at Hush, the fresh fish of the day at Zerri’s, a perfectly cooked steak (with potatoes, salad and starter included in the price!) at Buffalo Bills, or a lovely Thai curry in gorgeously decorated surroundings in the Blue Elephant.
If you prefer something a little more Mediterranean you could sample the tapas selection at Tapaz. They actually offer Mediterranean fusion consisting of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes to suit all palettes. Tapaz is also great for a cocktail if you’re feeling a bit fancy and fruity, they have an amazing wine selection and is pretty much the perfect place to chill out and catch up with friends.
