Wagamama

Yes, when I say Wagamama, I mean this fabolous, delicious and amazing restaurant in Saint Julians in Spinola Bay. Wagamama was one of the first restaurants I visited here in Malta and I still get excited when planning to eat there.

The first restaurant of this chain was opened in London’s Bloomsbury in 1992 by Japanese Alan Yau. Since that there are more than 90 restaurants of this brand all around the world, just like in Europe, Middle East or USA.

In Malta Wagamama was the first Asian food franchise, opening in 2009 by Mr. Sammut. Before the opening the Maltese team attended a nine-week training in the UK with the British team. The place is “combining great, fresh and nutritious food in a sleek yet simple setting with helpful, friendly service and value for money”.

My personal experience at Wagamama is not really wide even if it offers the best of Chinese, Japanese and Thai flavors. During my first time in this restaurant I was confused by the menu list and didn’t have any expectations. My friend chose and ordered a dish for me. Well, what can I say? I was amazed by the Chicken Teriyaki and it immediately became my favorite food there. After all this I was at least able to choose a dessert by myself. I went for the White Chocolate Ginger Cheesecake, what I was eating literally with tears in my eyes.

Wagamama is definitely a great place to eat and chill. It is perfect for family lunch with children, for a romantic dinner with your date or for meeting a bunch of friends there. I always have to go back there from time to time to taste my favorite again and again, which is able to surprise me with its goodness every single time. To be honest I never tried nothing else there except that one dish, but that delicious food is making me simply so happy and satisfied that why would I deprive myself from this awesome feeling? And the dessert is just the cherry on the cake: it is so amazing, that makes me forget about all the problems and stress in my life. It is made on the basis of my taste.

I strongly recommend to visit this restaurant for everyone who is staying in Malta. It is open daily between 12:00 am and 11:00 pm and also feel free check their whole menu on their website. And if you ask me, I say “Chicken Teriyaki and White Chocolate Ginger Cheesecake forever!
